- As this text explains, as a result of his studies with Gurdjieff and Hauer, and his own research, especially with Yoga, Arnold was the first person to mathematically calculate the exact frequencies of the Chakras. Moreover, he invented a new musical scale tuned to them, now called PrimaSounds. He is the author of over 50 books in German on psychology, philosophy, science, religion, poetry and music, a few of which have recently been translated into English as part of the School of Wisdom publication project. Keyserling has also co-authored a book in English with Ralph entitled Chance and Choice" a compendium of ancient and modern wisdom revealing the meaning and significance of the myth of science. Also online are selections from his poetic works, New Age Visions: Inspiration for the Next Paradigm of World Culture. Most of his contributions to this on-line book were written by Professor Keyserling in the 1970s in German, and then later translated into English and edited. However, he has written a recent (May 2002) essay, in English, entitled The Discovery of Prima Sound.. Readers are encouraged to study this essay for his latest insights into Prima Sounds. Keyserling's work focused on the systematic ordering of numbers, language, and sensory data - the realms of sound, color, matter, and their connection to man, the microcosm, and macrocosm. This interrelationship is summarized by a geometrical figure called The Wheel, the archetypal image of his comprehensive system of thought. The Primary author of Chakra Music, R. L. has been working on PrimaSounds since 1971 when Professor Arnold Keyserling first invented the new musical scale. At the time he was studying in Vienna with him. In addition to composing PrimaSounds, R. L. is also the Web-Master of the Internet Web Site, School
of Wisdom. The web is a continuation
of a teaching institution first established in Europe in 1920 by Arnold's father,
Count Keyserling to promote understanding, reconciliation, and transmission
of all spiritual and wisdom traditions of the world. Its early teachers
include Carl Jung, Richard Wilhelm,
Herman Hesse, and Rabindranath Tagore. True to its mission of global culture,
School of Wisdom activities are now focused on the Internet. He has also authored two other books on philosophy and music; one with Arnold Keyserling: Chance and Choice: a Compendium of Ancient Wisdom and Modern Knowledge Revealing the Meaning and Significance of the Myth of Science and another on his own, entitled: Laws of Wisdom: a Holistic Synthesis of Science and Religion.. The Co-Author of Chakra Music, Arnold Keyserling, was born in 1922, an exile of the Baltic Republic of Estonia, and died in Austria in 2005.
Arnold Keyserling is the son of philosopher and author, Count Hermann Keyserling, and the great grandson of Chancellor Bismark. Arnold Keyserling is the original "new age thinker" in Europe who first introduced both the Human Potential movement and the Native American shamans to Europe in the 1970's and 1980's. Arnold was a dedicated teacher who taught in his own schools and also served as a full Professor of Spiritual Philosophy at the Acaemy of Art, in Vienna, Austria for over 35 years.Arnold Keyserling was one of Europe's great late Twentieth Century philosophers, who was well known throughout Europe and Asia as an extraordinary public speaker and teacher. Arnold was a student and friend of George
Gurdjieff , and was also inspired by and studied with Ramana Maharishi, and Josef Matthias Hauer (mystical early and mid 20th Century composer who started 12-tone music). Arnold and his wife, Wilhelmine, who also studied with Gurdjieff in Paris after the War, were the first Westerners to bring Yoga to Europe in the early 1960s when they returned to Vienna after living and studying for five years in Calcutta. Although a philosopher, not a psychologist, Professor keyserling was elected President of the Association of Humanistic Psychology in Europe in the mid 1980s. He was also a poet and prophet, heralding the coming Age of global technology and friendship, and of holistic thinking. Under Keyserling's philosophy God, as source of the Universe, is seen as a Friend, not a lord and master.
